Why Use a Realtor?

In today’s world, all the information you could ever need (and more), is at your fingertips.  When you decide that you are ready to buy or sell a property, there is so much information online, that you may feel you don’t need a Realtor.  Think again!!  Buying and selling a home is a major transaction, don’t you want to know that you have ALL the information needed to make informed decisions?  According to Realtor.com, here are 6 Reasons You Should Never Buy or Sell a Home Without an Agent:

Realtors have loads of expertise:

There are tons of required forms, disclosures and other technical documents.  Do you really want to risk delaying the purchase of your dream home or possibly losing it?

Realtors have access to more listing information than you:

You may think you have seen every house there is to see from you internet searches.  However, Realtors have access to all the listings that are available online, as well as those that are not advertised online.  Realtors are also well informed of the neighborhoods that you may not even know exist.

          Negotiating Skills:

Realtors work for you.  They will negotiate a deal that will be in your best interests.  There is a lot of competition in the housing market right now.  A Realtor will help you get what you want at the best terms possible.  They also will make sure the purchase agreement allows enough time for inspections, contingencies, etc.

          Realtors are connected to everyone:

Realtors have a network that include mortgage brokers, home inspectors, home stagers, real estate attorneys and more.

They are required to follow a strict Code of Ethics:

A Realtor is a licensed real estate agent who belongs to the National Association of Realtors®.  Realtors are held to a higher ethical standard than licensed real estate agents, because they must follow the Code of Ethics.

         Realtors wear many hats:

They work ‘round the clock trying to get you what you want!  They spend their own money marketing your home.  They spend countless hours driving around trying to find your perfect home!

Keeping a Tidy Home

We all have friends like this: Their houses are perfect!  No clutter, no dust on the tables, everything is in its place!  Turns out, they don’t clean round the clock, they just follow these tips from the Huffington Post:

      1. They know the difference between tidy and clean.

A house can be clean without being tidy.  The floors are free of dirt, the tables are all dusted, but there are toys and other piles of stuff all over the place.  You can also have a dirty, but tidy home.  Most people can deal with a house that is tidy, but a little dirty.  A house with everything put away, will always appear more attractive than one that has a mess all over the place!

2. They make tidiness a daily habit.

They don’t wait until the mess it too much to bear.  They have routines to keep each room looking tidy.  Having the kids clean up their toys before bed each night, hanging up clothes at the end of the day, folding laundry when it comes out of the dryer.

      3They clean as they go.

These people don’t wait until tomorrow to clean up today’s dinner.  It’s much easier to do it a day at a time, then to clean up a week’s worth of mess.

4. They collect less stuff.

When you have too much stuff, it’s almost impossible to stay tidy.  The more stuff you have, the longer it takes to organize, and then it goes back to the same mess as it was before.

5. They have a junk drawer.

Junk drawers can be used when you have that friend stopping by at the last minute.  Just sweep everything on the counter into the drawer.  Voila…a clean and tidy house!

Now, I admit, I think I only follow #5 on a regular basis (I'll blame my kids!), but the other four give me something to strive towards!  With today’s busy schedules, it is harder and harder to concentrate on your home!  Do you have any tips that you follow to keep your house under control and the chores looking less daunting?

Georgia is Home

Welcome to Georgia is Home. I hope to share with you insights to the area as well as helpful hints or tips for around the house. I will update you on local events, restaurants, parks, schools and sports. And I will also be posting interesting information about housing trends, transportation, crime, home d├ęcor, home loans and interesting tidbits about our favorite “Hollywood East“ neighbor, Pinewood Studios.

One example to start, Ant Man’s Economic Impact.  Marvel’s Ant Man blockbuster had a major economic impact on our area!  $106 million was spent in our county during production.  I am yet to have any celebrity sightings though!  Check out the article to see what else has recently filmed here and what is planned.

I am really excited to be a part of the Re/Max Legacy II group.  Like many in the area, I’m a transplant that fell in love with Fayette County.  The small town charm near the big city.  From the 90 miles of cart paths to the large acreage horse farms.  I can’t think of a better place to live in Georgia! I am excited to help Fayette County Residents (current and future) with all of their Real Estate needs.  If you or anyone you know needs a real estate agent or advice about the current market, please feel free to contact me!!

Thank you for checking out my blog!  Until next time!
